Aegis continued to build its position in RLJ Lodging Trust as part of a broader hotel-REIT value thesis. The fund believes hotel REITs were trading at steep discounts to replacement cost. It also expected a favorable 2026 demand calendar, including the FIFA World Cup across several U.S. host cities and America's 250th anniversary. With hotel supply growth unusually subdued, Aegis viewed industry fundamentals as favorable and the valuation as attractive relative to underlying real assets.
